Aidan's vocabulary has been steadily increasing but it was just this week that he started putting two words together. It's been obvious that he understands *everything* we say - he surprises us all the time and can follow sequenced commands (throw your trash away and then go to the bathroom to wash your hands). He even understands delayed gratification to an extent (we will play with the ball *after* we finish our lunch), so we haven't been too worried about the fact that most of his words and phrases are only recognizable to those of us who are around him all the time.
That being said, it's so much fun to see him growing! New "sentences" include:
"Papa (or daddy) bye bye"
"(out)side wet"
"no help" (he wants to do it all by himself)
"daddy... chop!" (so cute - while Rob was chopping wood last weekend)
"dirty diaper"
"daddy home" (when he wants daddy to come home, haha)
"wheredeygo shoes (or any other object or person)?"
I love it! And can you believe he turned 20 months old yesterday? He's got 16 teeth, is starting to help put on/take off clothing, knows letters A, O, and T, can run "superfast," and already gives his baby brother/sister kisses through mommy's belly. Where's my little baby boy gone? :)
And have I mentioned that he's a ham?? He loves to laugh and makes *us* laugh with his antics. In this video the popper toy he's playing with really does hurt quite a bit when it snaps you and he wanted to do it over and over again, we finally had to tell him he was "all done" and he wasn't too pleased. haha! Oh, and aren't his train pajamas too cute? Thanks Kim!
