Aidan is sick for the first time. It's just a stuffy nose and the occasional sneeze (that usually clears said stuffed nose all over whoever is holding him), but he isn't sleeping well - and either are we. We have been playing with other little ones and sharing toys a lot more frequently between play groups and nursery at church. He's happy otherwise, so hopefully he'll get over it soon and we'll all be able to take a super-long nap.
He weighed in at 19lbs 14oz on Friday, which means he's gaining about 3oz/week. Looks like he's finally slowing down.
We're working on trying to help him crawl. He's perfectly content just sitting and playing, but when he's around other little ones he gets frustrated that they are moving around and he can't. When we put him on his belly he just laughs and flips right over like he's saying, "yeah, nice try guys!" :) So we've been putting him on his knees and then stretching his arms out in front of him and letting him support himself. He thinks it's hilarious for some reason, so even though he does a face-plant after a few seconds, at least he's entertained. :)
We are borrowing baby gates from a friend in anticipation of his mobility and I'm beginning the task of baby-proofing the living room/bedroom. Our friend Kim's family just gave us a new dresser for Aidan that we are *so* thankful for, and our pastor's family is going to hand down some shelves for him too, so v ghg tr bhhhh54 hh ]/

we will be able to put things up and out of reach.
haha! That was Aidan. We downloaded a game that my sister recommended called Keyboard Pounder for him to play on the computer that lets him hit keys and see things (flowers or fish) pop up. He loves it and now thinks that when he's on my lap, it's his job to smack the keyboard. :)
He's also learned to grunt to tell us what he wants. He's especially loud anytime we are eating something and don't offer it to him. Hummus is a recent favorite as was the vanilla wafer that a friend snuck him (grr). This is such a fun age - there's something new happening every single day. :)
