Colorado Vacation Part 1

I had good intentions last week for posting but our internet provider had another idea. We are beyond frustrated with the billing/sales deptartment. We've lived here for almost 6 months and not a single month has gone by without some sort of problem resulting in us being without internet for days. They had the wrong address, then the wrong serial number on our modem, and now they've been crediting our payments to the wrong account. It took almost a week this time.

Complaining over, we're back online now and I have a minute, so here goes! :)

The 12 hour car ride was thankfully mostly uneventful. We made sure to bring snacks and entertainment and though I had to offer a steady stream of new things, he did better than can really be expected from a toddler. We took a long break in Hays, Kansas and let him play at the McDonald's playplace for a while and got into Denver right as the sun set (gotta love the bug guts on the windshield) :
We spent the night at my grandma's house and then had a wonderful morning with my older sister and her family at a great park she knew about. It was perfect for the various ages of the kids (18 months, 2 years, and 10!) and with a great shaded picnic area for the adults to spend time together.

There was a great stream to play in as well as Aidan's favorite (and as you'll see, a theme on our vacation) a TRAIN! :)

Unfortunately, as much as he enjoyed the train, he wasn't fond of sitting next to the conductor:

This park even had a petting zoo! Aidan has no fear, I love it!

So good to see you Aubrey!

We spent that evening with my dad and soon-to-be-step-family. Aidan is going to love having so many relatives close to his age as he gets older!

He got to have another train experience and this time he loved every minute of it! We took the light rail to the 16th street mall and walked around, then took it home. I enjoyed it, too. Made me miss Japanese public transportation.

Then back to grandma's for sleep in preparation of our 5 hour drive to Sand Dunes the next day. Those pictures will have to wait for another day, too. I'll try not to disappear for long!
